Streamlight Stylus Pro: A Gear Review

It has been a while since I did a Gear Review and the Streamlight Stylus Pro Flashlight is just the piece of gear to snap a dry spell with.

I got the Stylus Pro around Christmas time and it has been in my pocket most days since then.

Likes:

The amount of light this thing puts out on just 2 AAA batteries has to be seen to be believed. When I was a younger man we needed something a lot bigger with heavy D cells to match the light this thing throws (now to be fair  you probably can’t “tune”  somebody up with this thing but a 4 D cell Mag-Lite doesn’t exactly fit that well in a pocket).  I like the that it takes AAA batteries. I don’t mind buying the expensive CR123A batteries for my weapon lights and my real high performance lights but going through them in my EDC kills me. The best thing about this light is the $20 price tag. It is 1/3 of the price of the lower end Surefire’s and while not able to match them lumen for lumen the size, weight, and cost of this one means it WILL be in your pocket when you need it.

Dislikes:

I feel like a fan boy for saying this but there isn’t even anything I can nitpick about this light, it is just that good at this price!

Overall:

The Streamlight is a 5/5 Stars for me. It would be a great value at twice the price and for $20 it is a steal.
