The Backyard Pioneer EDC Blade

This is the first peek of a new project for Patrick Burns of Arcadia Knives and I, it will be called The Backyard Pioneer EDC Blade. Pat and I have been picking each others brains on the design for an Everyday Carry (EDC) knife and this is going to be the first prototype.

My philosophy behind this blade is the desire for a knife that can handle the mundane chores of daily work in the yard or afield and yet be able to step up if things go south. With that in mind I chose the timeless design of a clip point with a sabre grind for maximum strength. It will be thin enough for delicate work (5/32) but the tough o-1 steel will handle the rigors of tough field work.

I will be doing a thorough and rigorous round of testing on this blade when it hits my hot (not so) little hands.
