The Scars of SuperStorm Sandy

January 24, 2013 By Mike

It has been 3 months since SuperStorm Sandy ravaged the Mid Atlantic States. Even though life for most has returned to normal for most, the sometimes shocking scars of the Storm are still evident.

Down on the South Shore of Long Island the occasional boat can still be found lying where the storm surge dumped it.

In the small village of Lindenhurst, NY the excavators are busy tearing down the worst of the damaged homes.

This home just a few hundred feet from the Great South Bay had it’s siding stripped by the waves.

On the North Shore of Long Island the wind damage was pretty impressive. 3 months after the storm and the tress are still lying on this house.
