Spyderco Zip Tie Mod – A Gear Review

The Spyderco Zip Tie Mod is so darn simple and genius at the same time that I wish I could take credit for myself instead of just doing a quick gear review on it. I’m not exactly sure where I first read about this little trick and after some time poking around the internet I still can’t find who the true genius behind this is, but my hat is off to them.

The Zip Tie Mod allows you to draw the knife and have it pop open as it comes out of your pocket. If you want to open it normally just draw the knife straight up and out, but if you need it to open extra fast and scary, you allow the zip tie to grab on the edge of your pocket as you draw it to the rear. It is so simple it is scary!

This little Mod lets the average Spyderco blade mimic the more expensive Emerson knives. It takes a little bit of practice but before you know it, you’ll be whipping your Spyderco out with authority and scaring the heck out of yourself and your friends! Just be careful, please!

Check out last night’s blog for news on a really cool giveaway!

That has to be one of the best uses of 3 cents I have ever seen. I don’t own a Spyderco and my Benchmade is clipped on the hinge side instead of the heel side, but when I do get around to buying a Spyderco knife I will give that a shot right off.
