Leatherman Charge TTi in action.

I’ve been carrying my Leatherman Charge TTi since I did a review on it a few months ago. I bought the accessories for it, the Leatherman 40-Bit Assortment and the Bit Driver Extension.  I’ve been using the tools every chance I get, but today they really paid off for my co-workers and I.

I work on Fire Island, NY, it is a barrier island sitting to the south of Long Island. I’ve got a 40 mile ride with 15 miles of it being a 4×4 drive down the beach ( the ride is awesome, great views, and amazing wildlife).  Today, while out on this remote barrier island, we broke our lashing machine. The Lasher is what secures the cables to the steel strand which keeps everything up on the telephone poles. We were able to fix it using the Charge! Here are a few pics:

The Leatherman Charge got our machine fixed and back in business. My partner is usually a bit of a skeptic when it comes to my gadgets but even he had to admit that the bit driver was cool. The fact that it has so many hex bits is pretty amazing. I can’t recommend these tools enough.
