You may have noticed that it has been a little bit slow around here for the past 2 weeks. I’m sorry for that! I have been working on getting another site up and running.
I felt that my posting here was getting a little bit scattered. So in an attempt to get back to my Suburban Homesteading/Preparedness focus here at The Backyard Pioneer I felt it was time to cut some stuff loose. Flames and Food will focus on Smoking and Grilling exclusively. This will let me give attention to both of my passions without diluting either.
A good example of how it will breakdown is with my upcoming Corned Beef project. The actual making of the corned beef will be here on The Backyard Pioneer. Corning a meat is a traditional form of food preservation and well within the scope of this site. When I coat the corned beef with black pepper and crushed coriander and smoke it to make pastrami, that will be on Flames and Food. I think this will make for a more consistent vision on both sites.
